Building Strength & Recovery for Athletic Performance: Using bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) to assess fluid balance in Sports Medicine for optimal sport performance and recovery
Wednesday, September 2nd, 6pm ET
Featured Faculty
Jordan R. Moon, PhD, CSCS, EP-C, ISAK Level 3, Dawn Nasta, & Chad Sirratt, AS, MAT, NASM, Cooper Ins, NSCA
Learning Objectives
- Understand the application of Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BIS) in Sports Medicine — including how to establish athlete baselines and structure a successful body composition and fluid monitoring program from day one.
- Interpret the key clinical outputs of BIS — fluid balance, intracellular and extracellular fluid (ICF/ECF), and phase angle — and what they reveal about athlete hydration status, cellular health, and readiness.
- Apply segmental fluid analysis, phase angle, and skeletal muscle mass data to inform return-to-play decisions, recovery tracking, and workload management.
