POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Communications Manager will work under the guidance of the SVP, R&D and Technology to develop and execute marketing communications programs to achieve company-wide sales and marketing objectives.  This will include the implementation of marketing communications activities through interactions with business development, product marketing, customer service and sales. While product management is responsible for setting the direction, and focus of the different vertical businesses, the Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for understanding this direction and creating, implementing, and overseeing both internal and external communication programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products.  This role ensures that the marketing function accurately reflects the brand of the company. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions of the Position) include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         Working with multiple internal departments and with external partners, create/review/edit marketing collateral, web content, data sheets, brochures, display materials for trade shows, advertisements, online advertisements, newsletters, promotional materials, presentations, scripts & other multimedia items

·         Write, execute, and support direct mail/email campaigns

·         Help support all partner and channel marketing initiatives including partner collateral, html emails, partner landing pages, joint marketing programs, etc.

·         Support tradeshows and other events as needed through registration, coordination and logistics support

·         Help develop lead generation, awareness building and other campaign management activities that support product launches and focused campaigns (target verticals)

·         Provide detailed analysis and reporting on competitor, partner & reseller marketing activities

·         Analyze and generate regular reports on results of marketing campaigns including budget management, new contacts, lead generation, and ROI

·         Manage and monitor the ImpediMed’s web presence, including social media sites via analytic tools, implementing SEO marketing campaigns, and monitoring online reviews/postings

·         Maintain effective working team relationships across the company

·         Communicate Marcom activities on a fortnightly basis to the Sales and Marketing management

·         Obtain necessary consent and provide final approval on all marketing collateral, products and promotions

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage/track budget to support recommended engagement strategies

·         Develop schedules and maintain deadlines

·         Monitor medical marketing trends, medical news and updates

·         Prepare market analyses on patient demographics, potential physicians/practices and potential new locations

·         Research, recommend and manage lead generating activities including; advertising opportunities, online marketing opportunities, trade show & event opportunities

·         Recommend and coordinate online marketing programs including; newsletter sponsorships, banner advertising, white paper postings, splash pages, inquiry/survey forms and search terms

·         Help plan, develop, and coordinate any community health fair activities or special physician/community events

·         Maintain relationships with third party vendors and outside organizations

QUALIFICATIONS / GUIDELINES

Typical Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

·         Ability to work in a geographically distributed team environment and plan, manage, and complete multiple, complex, cross-functional projects with changing requirements

·         Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

·         Provide a high level of service to internal and external audiences always

·         Work well under pressure; assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely manner

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly document all work and communicate ideas, concepts, plans, and documentation with external audiences and coworkers through the telephone, email, and in person

·         Passion for high quality results and attention to detail

·         Must understand, follow, and comply with regulatory requirements as applicable to various processes.  An understanding of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO Standards (ISO 13485) is required.

·         Must possess a thorough understanding of work related standards and regulations, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality System Regulations (QSRs), both US and international.

Skills – Technical:

·         Must demonstrate a high level of understanding of common business practices, exceptional computer and business machine skills and software application proficiency

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and various computer programs that will offer improved productivity for the position

·         Strong problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills are required

 

TYPICAL MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE or CERTIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related field required

·         Two (2) to five (5) years strong writing and editing skills and the ability to create a wide variety of content

·         Knowledge of website content management systems and social media tools required

·         Experience in healthcare-related field preferred

·         Experience in working with print and video production preferred

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Travel:  Position requires business travel (including overnight), estimated up to 5%.  Must be available for occasional international travel.  Valid driver’s licence and valid passport required.

·         Physical Demand: Must be able to lift weight of up to twenty (20) pounds of force on an occasional basis, and a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

·         Mental Demand: Moderate to high degree of concentration. Able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
